Sobrino de Botín is considered the oldest restaurant in the world recognized by the Guinness book of records since 1987. Located in the heart of Madrid to just 5 minutes walk from Plaza Mayor, It was founded in 1725 some renovations were done during the years but keeping the original appearance. As an anecdote Francisco de Goya painter when he was an adolescent worked in the restaurant as dishwasher and waiter. Ernest Hemingway loved the restaurant and the main course roast suckling pig, he mention it in the novel The Sun Also Rises. (We ate at Casa Botin, in the room upstairs. It is one of the best restaurants in the world. We ate roast suckling pig and drank Rioja Alta.).
